Beginner Pen Making Workshop
Join us for an immersive, hands-on experience where you’ll create a beautiful piece of art in just one (2-hour) session. No experience required—just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm.

Intermediate Pen Making Workshop
Join us for an immersive, hands-on experience where you’ll create a beautiful piece of art in just one (2-hour) session. No experience required—just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm.
Students can choose from the following pen kits:
- American Patriot
- Bolt Action
- Cigar
Note: Before the workshop, students will need to select the pen kit and wood options. An in-person or Zoom Meeting will need to be set to pick the setting and wood.

Flower Vase Making Workshop
Turn raw wood into a beautiful work of art. It’s the perfect experience for anyone looking to try something new. This workshop is a (2-hour) session. No experience required—just your curiosity and enthusiasm.

Private One-on-One Woodturning Lesson with Ernesto (2 hours)
Enjoy a fully customized two hour session tailored to your woodturning goals. You will work side by side with Ernesto to select the perfect hardwood, learn tool sharpening and maintenance, and master techniques for your chosen project. Explore any of the following areas based on your interests:
- Log selection and cutting
- Wood drying methods
- Fundamentals of bowl design
- Faceplate mounting and tenon techniques, including recess tenons
- Bottom shaping and finishing cuts
- Sanding and finishing methods including oils, waxes, and lacquers
- Turning punky or cracked wood
- Filling voids and small cracks
- Sharpening with high-speed grinders or slow wet systems
- Natural edge bowls, vases, or hollow forms
Students may bring their own sharpening tools or a project in progress for hands-on support. Early registration is recommended as lessons fill quickly.

Private Bowl Making Class (One Full Day)
Turn a simple block of wood into a masterpiece you can proudly call your own. In this (no-experience-necessary) immersive one-day bowl-making workshop, you’ll experience the artistry and satisfaction of shaping raw wood into a finished piece—all in a single day.
You will create your own bowl under close guidance, with all materials, tools, safety equipment, and lunch included.
To ensure a personalized experience, this is a private (one student only) class.
Class runs 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Cost: $350 (includes a non-refundable $100 deposit).

Introduction to Bowl Making (Two Days)
This two‑day introductory class is ideal for beginner woodturners with 1-5 years of woodturning experience. You’ll learn foundational push and pull cuts on both wet and dry wood using EasyWood tools. If you’re ready, instruction on 1/2‑inch and 3/8‑inch bowl gouges is available to help you explore more advanced techniques.
Students will learn:
- Proper log selection and cutting techniques
- Wood drying methods
- Fundamentals of bowl design
- Faceplate mounting
- Proper tenon techniques
- Effective sanding and finishing methods
Each student completes two bowls during the course:
- One wet‑wood bowl
- One dry‑wood bowl
All wood, tools, safety equipment, and daily lunch are included. Class size is limited to four students to ensure hands‑on personalized instruction. Early registration is recommended, as spots fill quickly.

Deep Dive Into Bowl Making (Three Days)
This three-day intensive class is for students with prior bowl turning experience (more than 5 years) who want to deepen their skills. You will master push, pull, and scraping cuts using 1/2‑inch, 3/8‑inch, and bottom gouges on both wet and dry wood.
Students will learn:
- Proper log selection and cutting techniques
- Wood drying methods
- Fundamentals of bowl design
- Sharpening and tool maintenance
- Effective sanding and finishing techniques
Each student completes three bowls during the course:
- One wet‑wood bowl
- One natural‑edge bowl
- One dry‑wood bowl
All wood, tools, and safety equipment are included. Instruction takes place on a Powermatic 2020 short‑bed lathe, and lunch is provided daily. To ensure quality hands‑on teaching, class size is limited to four students. Early registration is recommended, as space fills quickly.

Adult Workshop FAQs
Our hands on woodturning workshops take place at 1404 El Nido Dr in Fallbrook, California. Directions are on our home page our you can click here.
Beginner pen and small project workshops start at $50, private one on one sessions are $100, the two day bowl introduction is $250 and the three day advanced bowl workshop is $500. Cash payment is accepted now. Payment via PayPal/card will be available shortly.
Just bring yourself, you will have access to all tools, wood and safety gear, we only ask that you complete the interest form so we can prepare for your skill level.
Closed toe shoes are required and we recommend comfortable long sleeve shirts and pants that can handle a bit of wood dust. No loose fitting clothes.
Most workshops are open to anyone aged 14 and up, and our Home School Program welcomes students ages 10 to 18 with parental consent.
No prior experience is necessary, our beginner classes cover tool safety and basic cuts and we offer progressive workshops for every skill level.
